How to wear red at Christmas dinner

on
December 25, 2016

I used to banish red from my wardrobe. When I was little, my mom and auntie always bought me red clothes, so you can imagine my reaction when I grew up. As the years went by, I understood the power of red. It is bold, in the centre of attention, it signifies passion, strength, happiness. No wonder Santa is dressed in a red suit. One of the most prolific figures in the world, chose this colour to be memorable, don’t you agree?

If on the first day of Christmas I wore a champagne dress, all glamorous and princess like, on the second day of Christmas, I chose this pretty red number. The plunged ruffled red dress comes from Litte Mistress, and it is perfect! It captures all the attention, and it has pockets, so I was definitely sold and ready to put to rest all my anxiety in wearing this colour.

The setup couldn’t have beenĀ more perfect than our gorgeous Christmas tree and table decoration made at Iris by the amazing florist designer Nicu Bocancea. I am always drawn to beauty in all elements, and I think people would be much more relaxed and happier if they’d sit back and smell the roses. Literally. I’ve been to a floral workshop a few months back in London, and for two hours I managed to understand just some basics of this art. I fell in love, but I know not everyone can have the wisdom and vision to create something as beautiful as flower decoration. Thankful to have such talentedĀ people in my life!

Speaking about talented people, no dinner can be complete without friends and family. Gather them around and be merry and bright. Now that’s how you wear red!
