Girls night in – K West Hotel & The Arch Hotel, London
When you have one of the most amazing jobs in the world, you can only be thankful. Yes, thankful for all the sleepless nights, all the brainstorming, all the closed doors, all the unpaid collaborations, all the hard work. Because they only make you grow as a creative person, as a skilled photographer, stylist, PR, accountant, influencer, and writer. Bloggers are all that and more and when brands recognize your work you know you’ve made it. This is why I love my job: it takes me places I never dreamed of, and getting to know new wonderful people every day is a bonus.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of reviewing a few hot spots in London and assuming by the response I got on Instagram, you all want to know more about it. Spring drops really late in London, but that day was finally warm and sunny, perfect for a shopping spree at River Island. Because that’s how bloggers start their day: among rails of clothes. We had the pleasure of invading the personal shopping studio on Oxford Street. It is free for everyone, and for one hour you get the luxury of styling tips from the RI sale assistants, as well as a private changing room area. Since you know me, I spent my budget on shoes and clothes for Emma. Their baby range is gorgeous, so trendy and cute!
All great things are done in good company, so I had Teral, Gabi, and Bianca as the perfect team for a fun day in the midst of cakes and pampering. You read that right because shopping sprees can be exhausting and nothing can charge your batteries than afternoon teas. Not just any afternoon tea, but the one at the five-star hotel The Arch London in Great Cumberland Place. The urban sanctuary blends modern with English heritage reflected in the facilities, luxurious rooms, and flawless service. The Royal Afternoon Tea was a delight, enjoyed in the Martini Library, one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve seen. The Jazz music in the background made the time stop for a bit, while indulging the best coronation chicken, as well as the softest scones ever.
Getting tired already? Not us, because the day was just about to become perfect with our stay at K West Hotel, situated in BBC’s former recording studio, in Shepherd’s Bush. Recently refurbished, the hotel has a laid-back, stylish aesthetic, and a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The rooms are light and spacious, providing a free to use smart tablet which guests can use to order room service or book spa appointments, as well as a free mobile phone to make calls internationally. I thought it was a sweet touch, proving extra care towards guests.
We were waited in our rooms by really nice hampers and it felt like Christmas once again. The baskets were filled with skincare, jewelry, make up, shoes, all provided by Emma Lomax, River Island, Aeos Skincare, The Wet Brush, Majique London, Glo-Ray, Shills UK, Taschka. You should check these brands, they are amazing and I can’t wait to try them and tell you more.
After pillow talks about the world of blogging, we finally fell asleep in our comfortable beds and I for sure needed a rest after months of sleepless nights (mommy issues). The morning was crowned with a really delicious English breakfast and we were ready to embark on our next destination: the Boutique Spa. Because nothing can top two days of relaxation in a row. The spa is located on Oxford Street area, where the lovely Alina did my gel mani. This is the perfect place for busy girls on the go to pop in for a spot of indulgence and pure relaxation. It is an urban retreat that doesn’t disappoint and I am so happy I have discovered it.
There you have it: how to relax for two days in a busy London. Shop till you drop, then recuperate at K Spa, in a cosmopolitan oasis provided by the K West Hotel. And if you feel up to trying one of the best afternoon teas in London, head to The Arch London and be treated royally. The artsy decor is a bonus.
