Disneyland Paris for adults: where magic is real
I’ve always been a Disney girl, ever since I was little. Nothing changed after 30 years, I still know all the songs and plots to all the movies, and I am keeping myself updated to all the Disney releases. There is a Disneyland fun club and my name should be listed there, for sure. Sadly, my parents didn’t take me to the land of magic when I was younger, so I got to experience it from a different perspective a couple of weeks ago, thanks to The Blogger Programme. Hands down, the best trip I’ve ever had, and not only because of the VIP treatment, and the cool bloggers I got to meet, but because I felt like a kid again, and the Disney Elena is so much fun! My question before starting this trip was: Is Disneyland for adults? Well, if you like to party, eat great food, enjoy the rush of rides, and laugh all day long with Minnie and Mickey, then YES, go ahead and plan that trip with your friends. Everyone deserves a little bit of relaxation, pampering and turning back to no care in the world, and Disneyland Paris has something to offer to all ages. Did you know that 40% of guests come to Disneyland by themselves, with no children? The oldest person that enjoyed the magic land had 106 years, so I guess you are never too old to have fun.The entire 3 days I’ve spent in Disneyland were full of exciting moments I will treasure forever. So, if you want to celebrate a birthday with friends or a romantic break, here are just some of the many reasons a trip to Disneyland Paris is perfect for adults too.
Big thrills
If you’re after adrenaline and rush, Disneyland has it covered, from the exhilarating adventure on Indiana Jones (you can see me with a GoPro camera having the best time of my life), riding the tidal wave through Crush’s Coaster, reaching dizzying heights on the Tower of Terror (again captured by a GoPro on one of the most thrilling adventures ever), to the adrenaline-inducing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Space Mountain Mission 2… there is something for all levels of thrill seekers. The most important thing you want to get is the Fastpass system, which is a free service allowing guests to limit waiting times for attractions. This way, your next big #DisneyThrill could be closer than you think. The newest adventure is the Walt Disney Studio Park where you can be srink down to the size of Remy whilst feasting on French cuisine in Bistrot Chez Remy, or step next door to board a ratmobile in Ratatouille: The Adventure, a multi-sensory attraction like no other. 3D glasses and an amusing story to tell.
Pampering and accommodation
There are lots of hotels that will accommodate you, but non like the luxurious Disneyland Hotel. You can holiday in true prince/princess style, just a short stroll from the gates of the Disneyland Park. This majestic Victorian-inspired hotel delivers the finest Disney service and hospitality, with character dressed housekeepers and valets, as well as rooms made of magic. The guests can enjoy up to two extra hours in parts of the park, so this will is quite the benefit. Treat yourself to a delightful afternoon of relaxation by the pool or at the Celestia Spa, and later on, take advantage of this magical setting by sipping a cocktail at Cafe Fantasia. We had our own bartender preparing a cocktail for us in a beautiful musical room, overlooking the park.
Magical parades
What I loved the most about Disneyland was that everyone is happy there, and I am quite the optimistic and cheerful person, so I felt like my place was among the Disney characters, wearing my Minnie ears with pride and even humming Disney classics while strolling down Main street U.S.A. But my favourite part was when I recaptured childhood memories and waved at my favourite characters as they passed by in Disney Magic on Parade. Along with children, I was ecstatic when I met Ana and Elsa, Minnie and Mickey, Winnie the Pooh and so many more, while the lively music, bright costumes and vibrant floats added an extra splash of colour and magic to the streets of Disneyland. Each evening the town is set on fire during the spectacular show, Disney Dreams, in which fireworks light up Sleeping Beauty Castle with timeless Disney stories, ensuring your day is truly #DisneyPerfect. All you have to do is soak up the magical party atmosphere, proving there is no age limit to either of these adventures.
Dining
So many options to choose from, starting with fast food for people with a bucket list to check, or free spirits like us, wanting to dine with Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Lunch like a royal amongst prince and princesses at Auberge de Cendrillon, or have dinner at Inventions, Disneyland Hotel, both surrounded by the beloved Disney characters. Make the most of this magical dining experience by taking selfies with the greatest fairy tale heroines. Alternatively, escape to Jasmine and Aladdin’s kingdom in Adventureland and dine at Restaurant Agrabah Cafe, a sumptuous Mediterranean and Middle Eastern buffet set in an atmosphere worthy of an authentic, ancient Arabian Bazaar. For the ultimate grown-up experience, I am recommending a gourmet dinner at California Grill, Disneyland Hotel, where some of the best chefs in Europe will embark you on a taste trip to heaven.
Shopping and night life
We laughed, we played, we had fun, but in the end, no short break is complete without some shopping time. Take some Disney magic home with you and go on a spree in the myriad park boutiques or in Disney Village, and uncover the latest must-have items and souvenirs. Located just minutes away, there is La Vallee Village designer outlet. Just imagine our thrill when we found out about this luxurious outlet, making Disneyland the go-to destination for major international fashion and lifestyle brands at reduced prices.
There are no meetings in the morning, so what can adults do in Disneyland when the children go to bed? They sit back, relax and savour delicious cocktails in the New York City Bar. This smart uptown bar will spoil you with fine wines, beers and mixed drinks. Mirroring a traditional Manhattan nightspot, this is the place to toast and savour your Disney adventure and memories. And also upload those snaps on Instagram. There is also a Sports Bar or even Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon with its bar, concerts and dance floor. Who said Disneyland is only for kids? Adults can have fun too and Disneyland has so much to offer!
I would like to thank The Blogger Programme and Disneyland Paris for creating this perfect dreamy holiday. I hope you enjoyed my first video on Youtube (don’t forget to subscribe) about my magical experience at Disneyland Paris and I am waiting to see pictures from your next trip, bachelorette party, or anniversary at Disney. Let’s make a statement and bring back the fun in our lives, we definitely need it!
