Dating challenge: Tuscany themed lunch

June 1, 2015

We’ve been married for five years (yes, you read it correctly). Romanticism doesn’t really characterize either of us, we’re more of a down to earth kinda couple, but this doesn’t mean we run away of interesting things to spice up our relationship. We might not go bungee jumping from Tour D’Eiffel, backpacking down the  Grand Canyon, or swimming with dolphins, although all these activities sound great, but we can still have fun in two. What happens when we are on a budget or a tight schedule? Ideas seem to run low, so what can we do? This is when The Dating Challenge by Jenny-Marie Penberthy comes really in handy. Her spin on dates is brilliant, and she offers practical ways on how to make everything fun and out of the ordinary. The book is a course on how to achieve remember-it-for-the-rest-of-your-lives kind of dates. The eight week challenge has been given an interesting activity, tools for a unique challenge element thrown in for those who want their date to be outstanding.

So with this resource with one date a week, you get a complete itinerary with a list of what is required for each date before you start. The dates do not have to be completed in order, you decide! With these in mind, me and my husband started the challenge with Date 3 – Something we rustled up. tuscany dinner

This is all about enjoying a posh meal at home, dressed appropriately. I decided to whip up a casual lunch, with a meat & cheese platter, and a Caprese salad with homemade pesto. Simple, but effective. You don’t need a special occasion to have a date on your own living room, wearing something nice, instead of the old Pjs we all spend our Saturdays in. Trying to bring some sun in our living room and infuse the atmosphere with the Italian spirit, I wrapped a pretty yellow and blue silk scarf from Powder around my neck, and I was ready to welcome my husband to my Tuscany themed lunch. He looked really dashing on a sky blue shirt from T.M.Lewin. He brought me a beautiful gift, a silver dream catcher bracelet from Links of London to mark down this series of dating challenges. Who said your husband can’t be romantic after 5 years?

Embark in a great adventure that will only help your relationship grow. You can download the free e-book and use it as a tool of spicing things up, we all need to wake up once in a while and learn more about our significant other, have fun and enjoy life!dating challenge DSC_0328
